Whatever the subject, my goal is to depict what I perceive as its essential form as well as its visual music of line and color.   The design of the pattern of light and dark values is key to this.  The other aspect that intrigues me is drawing out the hidden potential of color of the subject.  I have found that the combination of strong giclée-rendered line drawing together with the subtle effects possible with watercolor is a powerful method for simplifying form while providing a beautiful color interpretation.
